Opportunities Without Fixed Edges

Everywhere, everyone, every opportunity is just another person. People are not the institutions they represent; they are human, imperfect, and mimetic, and should be approached like any other conversation. "The Embassy" does not read emails, a counsellor does. So opportunities do not have fixed edges; they are doors into rooms of people, and every room contains other doors. Being in one room, somewhere unusual doing something interesting, gives you a reason to knock on the next, and the only real barrier is the self-deceiving "Who am I to ask?", which inflates a person into an institution and answers no on their behalf. Asking costs almost nothing, and the best asks create more value than they consume, so they compound. Everything everywhere is simply another room of people, and once you have a seat at the table, or a way to open the door, everything becomes much simpler.

If this door's already open, what else can I reach from here?
